Third time's a charm . . . I guess the file was too big trying to upload earlier.

Anyway, this is Jerry (ahem . . . Jericho), a character belonging to my friend Ralph. He's technically an NPC for our Exalted game, but he acts as more of an NPC most of the time. He's married to my character Dynasty. Here he's playing his golden violin, which should be fairly obvious.

I was pretty dang happy with this piece, despite its lack of background. Because this was only my second Prismacolor pencil piece (love that alliteration) in the past few years and I haven't the vaguest notion how to even begin to draw stage lights with colored pencils, I thought it best to leave it off rather than ruin an otherwise good piece. I might add one later, but I doubt it, and if I do, it will be a digital background. Which just wouldn't look right.

Other than that, though, I like it. I used a perfect reference photo to get the pose right, I like the expression on his face, and I even like the violin, even if it is missing the curvy little holes on the top for acoustics (I can't remember what they're called- some violinist I am!). I figure if it's a gold violin, it's a magic violin, so it doesn't need them.

I just wish the scan would have shown all the night highlights I put in his hair. I used black, white, 5 different colors of blue and 3 greys on that hair, dangit!
